Advanced
GeoEnvironmental,
Inc
26 January 2000
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0173
Mr. Jeff Wong
San Joaquin County PHS-EHD
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor
Stockton, California 95202
Subject: Stockpiled Soil Sampling Results
Former California Fuels Cardlock Station
.1.402 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Wong:
At the request of Mr. David Atwater of Van De Pol Enterprises,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
(AGE) is requesting San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division
(PHS-EHD) approval to spread one soil stockpile (Stockpile No. 1) located in the northeast section
of the subject property; the stockpile was generated from well drilling activities at the site conducted
in November and December 1999 and is estimated at 5 cubic yards.
On 07 January 2000, a representative from AGE collected two soil samples(SPI-Aand SP1-B) from
The above mentioned stockpiled soil and at the direction of the PHS-EHD. Soil samples were
preserved by covering both ends of a brass sleeve with Teflon sheets, capping and sealing with tape.
Each preserved sample sleeve was labeled with location, time, date and sampler's initials. Each
preserved sample was logged on a chain-of-custody form, placed in a chilled container and
transported to a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for analysis
of:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g), volatile aromatic compounds
(benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene: BTEX), methyl-tertiary butyl ether(MTBE),
di-isopropyl ether(D1PE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether(ETBE), tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME)
and tert-butanol (TBA) by EPA Method 8260B.
The laboratory reports of the composite soil analyses are attached. None of the above mentioned
constituents of concern were detected during laboratory analysis of the samples. Therefore, AGE
proposes to spread the stockpiled soil at the subject property at a thickness of approximately 6-
inches.
