1
09 September 1996
AGE-NC Project No 95-0173
43 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES
A total of twenty-six soil samples were submitted to Alpha Analytical Laboratories (AAL) for
laboratory analysis Substantial concentrations of TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in soil samples
collected from borings B-1 and B-2, with moderate concentrations detected from MW-1 through
MW-3, and no detection in soil samples collected from boring MW-4 TPH-g concentrations ranged
' from 1 6 mg/kg (milligrams per kilogram, or parts per million ppm) in MW-1 to 9,900 ppm in B-2,
TPH-d concentrations ranged from 1 3 ppm in B-1 to 1,100 ppm in B-2
The highest concentrations of BTE&X were detected in soil samples collected from borings B-1 and
B-2, only trace concentrations of BTE&X were detected in soil samples from MW-1 through MW-4
' BTE&X concentrations ranged from 0 005 ppm in MW-4 to 700 ppm in B-2
MTBE was not detected in soil samples collected from B-1, B-2 or MW-I through 11"IW-4
Analytical results of soil samples are summanzed in Table 1 The laboratory report (A AL Laboratory
Nos 96-0730-006 and 96-0730-007) and chain-of-custody are included in Appendix C
4 4 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' The highest concentrations of TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in MW-3 and MW-4 The lowest
concentrations of TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in MW-1 TPH-g concentrations ranged from
' 32,000µg11 (micrograms per liter or parts per billion ppb) in MW-1 to 100,000 ppb in MW-3, TPH-
d concentrations ranged from 680 ppb in MW-1 to 2,800 ppb in MW-2
BTE&X were detected in each well, benzene was detected at the highest concentrations, ranging
from 7,000 ppb (MW-1) to 14,000 ppb (MW-4) The remaining aromatic hydrocarbons (toluene,
ethyl benzene and total xylenes)were detected at concentrations ranging from 610 to 9,900 ppb All
concentrations of BTE&X at the site are above State of California Maximum Contaminant Levels
(MCLs) for drinking water of 1 0, 150, 700, and 1,750 ppb, respectively
MTBE and total lead were not detected in ground Water samples from _.N4W-1 through MIX-4
Analytical results of ground water samples are summarized in Table 4 The laboratory report (AAL
Laboratory Nos 96-0806-005) and chains-of-custody are included in Appendix C
