06 July 1999
• AGE-NC Protect No 95-0173
reporting limits
'
Analytical results of the ground water samples are summarized In Table 2 The laboratory reports
(Castle Analytical Laboratory Reference No 2250 and McCampbell Analytical Inc 1 D No 10462
through 10474) and chain-of-custody forms are presented In Appendix B
' 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' • Ground water flow direction for the area bound by wells MW-1 through MW-4, MW-6,
MW-7, MW-8 and MW-12 was generally toward the east at a gradient of 0 002 ft/ft, ground
water flow direction for the area bound by wells MW-4,MW-5, MW-7, MW-9, MW-10 and
' MW-11 was generally toward the east-northeast at a gradient of 0 002 ft/ft
• Ground water elevation at the site increased an average 1 84 feet between the January and
April 1999 ground water monitoring events, generally, a long term trend of increasing
ground water elevations is indicated by data obtained at the site since August 1996
'• • Ground water was approximately 6 feet above the screened intervals in monitoring wells
MW-1, MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4, ground water was approximately 26 to 36 feet above the
screen intervals at AW-113 and AW-2B, therefore these wells are "drowned", and do not
yield samples representative of shallow ground water
C TPH-g was detected In water samples collected from wells MW-1 through MW-4, MW-6,
' MW-9, MW-10, VW-1, AW-1B and AW-213 at concentrations ranging up to 270,000 kg/l
• TPH-d was detected in water samples collected from wells MW-1 through MW-4, MW-6,
MW-7, MW-8, MW-9, MW-10, MW-12, VW-1, AW-1B and AW-2B at concentrations
ranging up to 14,000 µg/1, however, the laboratory reported that the diesel chromatograms
for the samples did not have typical diesel characteristics
' • BTEX compounds were detected In ground water samples collected from wells MW-1
through MW-4, MW-6, MW-7, MW-8, MW-9, MW-10, VW-1, AW-1B and AW-2B at
concentrations ranging as high as 71,000 4g/1 The greatest benzene concentration was
detected from well VW-1 at a concentration of 18 000 ug/l
• MTBE was detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-2, MW-3, and MW-
4 utilizing EPA Method 8260 at concentrations as high as 69µg/l
• DIPE was detected in a ground water sample collected from well MW-4 at a concentration
of 7µg/l
Advanced GeoEn%iron mental,Inc
