INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> At the request of Mr David Atwater of Van De Poi Enterprises,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc <br /> (AGE)has prepared this Quarterly Report for 2402 Pacific Avenue(the site) in Stockton, California <br /> The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1, general features at the site are illustrated in Figure <br /> 2 <br /> The scope of work of this investigation included advancement of four soil borings, installation of <br /> three ground water monitoring wells, monitoring dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations <br /> in ground water and characterization of ground water flow direction and gradient at the site This <br /> report is prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services -Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and by the Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board for investigation of underground storage tank(UST) sites <br /> Background information and a description of prior investigations at the site was included in AGE's <br /> Closure Corrective Action Plan-May 1998, dated 05 May 1998 <br /> r� <br /> 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> 2 1 Drilling Activities <br /> On 01 through 03 July 1998, four soil borings (B 10, MW-10, MW-11 and MW-12) were advanced <br /> on and off-site as part of ongoing site assessment activities related to the former UST facility Soil <br /> boring B10 was advanced vertically to 95 feet below surface grade (bsg), soil borings MW-10 <br /> through MW-12 were advanced vertically to maximum depths of 70 feet bsg Soil borings were <br /> advanced utilizing a B-75 truck-mounted drill rig equipped with 8-inch diameter hollow stem augers <br /> The drill rig and two-man crew were supplied by Mitchell Drilling Environmental of Rancho <br /> Cordova, California During drilling activities, all soil cuttings were covered with plastic sheeting <br /> in an area at the site lacking public access The soil boring/monitoring well locations are depicted <br /> in Figure 2 <br /> 2 1 1 Soil Sample Collection <br /> Discrete soil samples were collected at 5-foot intervals, beginning at 75 feet bsg from soil boring <br /> B 10 and beginning at 15 feet bsg.from soil borings MW-10,MW-11 and MW-12 Soil samples were <br /> collected utilizing a California split-spoon sampler loaded with 2- by 6-mch brass sleeves The <br /> sampler was driven by dropping a 140-pound weight from a height of 30 inches The number of <br />` blows required to drive each 6-inch length of the sampler(blow counts)was recorded on boring logs <br />
