SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The proposed scope of work includes the installation of one IAS well and performance of a 72-hour <br /> IAS pilot test <br /> 3 1 DRILLING AND SAMPLING <br /> An IAS well will be advanced 10-feet below first encountered ground water (approximately 40 feet <br /> bsg) utilizing a CME-75 truck-mounted drill rig and 8 25-inch hollow-stem augers Cuttings <br /> generated during drilling activities will be placed on plastic sheeting Rinseate will be containerized <br /> in properly labeled D O T model 17H 55-gallon drums and stored on-site in an area lacking general <br /> public access Disposal alternatives will be evaluated based on results of the soil ground water <br /> analysis <br /> Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals beginning at a depth of 15 feet bsg using a <br /> California split-spoon sampler and brass sleeves The sampler will be driven by dropping a 140-pound <br /> • weight from a height of 30 inches Upon soil sample retrieval, the middle brass sleeve will be removed <br /> from the sampler The ends of the brass sleeve will be immediately covered with Teflon sheets, sealed <br /> with plastic end caps, secured with tape and immediately placed in a chilled container for <br /> transportation under chain of custody protocol to a State-certified laboratory Each sample sleeve <br /> will be labeled with the following boring location, depth, time, date and sampler's initials <br /> Soils are to be described using the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) Soil sample <br /> descriptions and PID screening results will be summarized on boring logs prepared in a report of <br /> findings ` <br /> 3 2 EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION <br /> All sampling tools and brass sleeves used for sample collection will be thoroughly i insed with clean <br /> water after washing with a solution of Alconox Each hollow stem auger will be steam-cleaned prior <br /> to borehole advancement <br /> 3 3 IN-SITU AIR SPARGING WELL COMPLETION <br /> The proposed IAS well will be completed utilizing 2-inch diameter PVC casing within an 8-inch <br /> diameter borehole excavation The borehole excavation will be advanced to a depth of approximately <br /> • 40-feet bsg The PVC casing will be emplaced through the hollow stem augers, utilizing 5-feet of <br /> Ad)anted GeoEmironniental,Inc <br />
