SCOPE OF WORK
The proposed scope of work includes the installation of one IAS well and performance of a 72-hour
IAS pilot test
3 1 DRILLING AND SAMPLING
An IAS well will be advanced 10-feet below first encountered ground water (approximately 40 feet
bsg) utilizing a CME-75 truck-mounted drill rig and 8 25-inch hollow-stem augers Cuttings
generated during drilling activities will be placed on plastic sheeting Rinseate will be containerized
in properly labeled D O T model 17H 55-gallon drums and stored on-site in an area lacking general
public access Disposal alternatives will be evaluated based on results of the soil ground water
analysis
Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals beginning at a depth of 15 feet bsg using a
California split-spoon sampler and brass sleeves The sampler will be driven by dropping a 140-pound
• weight from a height of 30 inches Upon soil sample retrieval, the middle brass sleeve will be removed
from the sampler The ends of the brass sleeve will be immediately covered with Teflon sheets, sealed
with plastic end caps, secured with tape and immediately placed in a chilled container for
transportation under chain of custody protocol to a State-certified laboratory Each sample sleeve
will be labeled with the following boring location, depth, time, date and sampler's initials
Soils are to be described using the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) Soil sample
descriptions and PID screening results will be summarized on boring logs prepared in a report of
findings `
3 2 EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION
All sampling tools and brass sleeves used for sample collection will be thoroughly i insed with clean
water after washing with a solution of Alconox Each hollow stem auger will be steam-cleaned prior
to borehole advancement
3 3 IN-SITU AIR SPARGING WELL COMPLETION
The proposed IAS well will be completed utilizing 2-inch diameter PVC casing within an 8-inch
diameter borehole excavation The borehole excavation will be advanced to a depth of approximately
• 40-feet bsg The PVC casing will be emplaced through the hollow stem augers, utilizing 5-feet of
Ad)anted GeoEmironniental,Inc
