Ground Water Aquifer Pumping Test Report-July 2003
CALIFORNIA FUELS CARDLOCK STATION
2442 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc (AGE)has prepared this ground water aquifer pumping test report
for 2402 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California(site) The report documents procedures and results
for installation of one ground water extraction well and performance of ground water aquifer
' pumping tests at the site in July 2003 The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1 Site structures and
monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2
The ground water pumping tests consisted of extracting ground water from "Hydrologic Unit 2,"
which was informally identified in Cone Penetrometer Testing Site Investigation -Fourth Quarter
2001, dated 19 February 2002 as a potential hydrogeologic unit between 38 and 65 feet bsg The
' objectives of the tests were to (1) obtain general ground water aquifer characteristics and (2) to
evaluate aquifer response to ground water extraction This report is prepared in accordance with
guidelines established by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board - Central Valley
Division for investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites A summary of previous
investigations at the site was included in Remedial Action Work Plan (RA WP) dated 30 December
1998, prepared by AGE
• The following is a brief summary of events for installation of the above ground water extraction well
and performance of the above ground water aquifer pump testing
20 January2003 - Soil boring for ground water extraction well (EW-1) advanced to 65 feet
g
below surface grade(bsg), soil samples collected every five feet between 15 and 65 feet bsg,
soil boring EW-1 was completed as a six-inch diameter ground water extraction well
screened between 40 and 65 feet bsg
0 09 July 2003 - performance of a `step' variable rate ground water aquifer pump test
• 11 July 2003 -Performance of a five gallons per minute (GPM) constant rate ground water
aquifer pump test
2.0. DRILLING AND SAMPLING PROCEDURES
On 20 January 2003, one ground water extraction well (EW-1) was installed at the site for
performance of a ground water pumping test Ground water extraction well installation procedures
for the site were outlined in Revisions to Work Plan Addendum, dated 06 November 2002,prepared
by AGE and approved by the San Joaquin County Environmcntal Health Department(SJCEHD)by
• Advanced GeoEnwronmental,Inc
