INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with the request of Mr David Atwater of California Fuels Cardlock Station (CFCS), <br /> Advcmced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this Work Plan for the advancement of five <br /> soil borings to evaluate the extent of hydrocarbon soil impaction beneath three 10,000-gallon <br /> underground storage tanks (USTs) at 2402 Pacific Avenue in Stockton, California If hydrocarbon <br /> impacted soil is encountered at depths of 30 feet, at least three of the borings will be extended to an <br /> approximate depth of 70 feet and completed as 2-inch diameter ground water monitoring wells <br /> The proposed soil and ground water investigation is performed under the authorization of CFCS and <br /> will be completed to fulfill a directive of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) The Iocation of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 A <br /> plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> • 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 21 SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located at 2402 Pacific Avenue in Stockton, San Joaquin County, California (Figure 1) <br /> The site is further described as being located within the northeast quarter of Section 6, Township 2 <br /> North, Range 6 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian <br /> Located at the northeast corner of Pacific Avenue and Castle Street, the site is presently occupied by <br /> a Cardlock gasoline dispensing station Local land use in the immediate vicinity of the site is <br /> commercial/residential <br /> 22 SITE HISTORY <br /> It is our understanding that a gasoline facility has existed at this site for at least 20 years CFCS has <br /> operated the site as a retail station of motor vehicle fuels since May 1983 CFCS converted a retail <br /> gasoline station, formerly present at the site, to a wholesale fuel cardlock The site has, at various <br /> times, sold all grades of gasoline, but now sells gasoline and diesel fuels Two 10,000-gallon gasoline <br /> USTs and one 10,000-gallon diesel UST are in place at the site with no known history of repair since <br /> May 1983 The PHS-EHD is requiring an investigation of the UST area to determine if any <br /> hydrocarbon impacted soil exists beneath the site ( Figure 2) <br />
