Complete at ground surface as indicated. <br /> 3.5 GROUND WATER PIEZONf=R DEVELOPMENT <br /> A. Contractor shall conduct ground water piezometer development after the <br /> bentonite seal has set for a minimum of 24 hours following ground water <br /> monitoring well completion- <br /> B. <br /> ompletionB. Ground water piezometers shall be developed using either a submersible pump, <br /> airlift equipment,jetting, backsurging,a bailer,and/or a surge block. <br /> C. Ground water piezometer development will consist of repeated evacuation and <br /> surging. <br /> D. Potable water may be used as a development aid for the purpose of circulation of <br /> sediment from the well. <br /> E. A minimum of 10 ground water piezometer volumes shall be removed and at <br /> least three times the volume of any potable water added during drilling will be <br /> removed. <br /> F. The Engineer will collect water samples for temperature, pH,and specific <br /> conductivity during ground water piezometer development Contractor shall <br /> assist Engineer in water sample collection. <br /> G. Ground water piezometer development shall continue until the temperature,pH, <br /> and specific conductivity have stabilized between consecutive water sample,and <br /> the ground water removed is clean and free of soil sediment,and as approved by <br /> the Engineer. <br /> H. Well development shall continue until the minimum ground water volume is <br /> removed or until ordered to stop by the Engineer. <br /> I. Any required pumps,filters,or other equipment necessary to process water and <br /> conduct well development shall be provided by Contractor at his cost. <br /> 3.6 SURFACE COMPLETION <br /> A. Ground Water Piezometer: <br /> 1. Place standpipe at elevations indicated on the drawings. <br /> 2. Secure standpipe with concrete apron as indicated. Piezometer identification <br /> number shall be imprinted in apron in 2-inch high letters before concrete sets. <br /> 3. Survey top of standpipe. <br /> 10/98 <br /> 02672-1 ER, <br />
