d <br /> SECTION 5 <br /> DESCRIPTION OF THE TREATMENT SYSTEM <br /> This section describes the components and process equipment for the <br /> remedial action. The remedial action includes three components: <br /> • Extraction Svstem. The Extraction System includes eight dual <br /> phase extraction wells, three soil vapor extraction wells, and five <br /> plume margin ground water extraction wells. The Extraction <br /> System additionally includes dual phase extraction tubes, and <br /> extraction wellhead assemblies. <br /> • Treatment Svstem. The Treatment System includes both extraction <br /> process piping to route extracted vapor and/or liquid from the <br /> extraction wells to the Treatment System and the Treatment System <br /> itself. The Treatment System includes the various process <br /> equipment for separation of extraction vapor and liquid and <br /> treatment of these media. <br /> • Reinjection System. The Reinjection System includes two ground <br /> water infiltration trenches and discharge piping to route treated <br /> ground water to the infiltration trenches. <br /> Each of these systems is described in the following subsections. <br /> Extraction System <br /> The components of the Extraction System are described in the following <br /> three subsections. <br /> Dual Phase Extraction Wells <br /> Eight dual phase extraction wells (DP-01 through DP-08) will be installed <br /> at the locations shown in Drawing C-2. As described previously, each of <br /> these extraction wells will be screened from 5 feet above the water table to <br /> 5 feet below the water table. Each dual phase extraction well will be <br /> constructed of 4-inch-diameter, Schedule 40 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) <br /> 5-1 <br />
