San Joaquin St
Stockton, CA 95206
Subject: Arco Mini Mart
3430 Pacific Ave.
Stockton, CA 95207
Dear Ms. Hinson:
On Tuesday, October 29, 1 met with D. C. Gill and Arthur Wyatt
to discuss possible alternatives to the proposal submitted to them
by Geological Audit Services to assess hydrocarbon contamination
and install new tanks at the referenced site. The meeting lasted
approximately 45 minutes.
GEOAUDIT' s proposal was to drill two to three soil borings in
the northeastern portion of the property in order to find I a
location that would be free of soil contamination and would be the
best site for the new tanks. Since receiving that proposal, Mr.
Gill has spoken to one or more tank removal contractors, and he and
Mr. Wyatt now believe that, due to limited space options for the
new tanks, preliminary soil borings are an unnecessary expense and
that it would be preferable to select a new tank location, excavate
a tank cavity, and collect one or more soil samples from the
excavation to determine whether the chosen location ' is clean or
contaminated. If the new location is in fact contaminated, it would
be included in the area that would require future assessment and
remediation. GEOAUDIT has no strong disagreement with this
proposal, and Mr. Gill and Mr. Wyatt have asked me to communicate
their proposal to you.
If this is acceptable to San Joaquin EHD, , it is our
understanding that the owners of the pr6perty will retain -a
contractor and begin the permitting proces:sA&qc&qtffNd=tW" your
approval.
