Well MW-7 was installed near the former and active
underground storage tanks in pea gravel. The current UST system on the site is the third set of tanks
installed. One set of steel tanks, one set of fiber-plastic over steel and now a set of fiberglass only USTs.
This well was installed before the current UST were upgraded in 2003.
Over drilling the well (MW_7) will disrupt the pea gravel base and support for the current USTs. This
well is additionally located near the on-site natural gas line (two feet) and cannot be over drilled for
destruction. The drilling company and AGE cannot accept the level of risk for a utility/UST failure for
the well's destruction. This well is within the UST area, yet ground water was not impacted during the
closure process.
AGE will procure access agreements and permits as soon as possible.
William R.
