19 December 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No. 95-0128 <br /> Page 5 of 12 <br /> Due to the reduction of the ground water table elevation, less ground water can be readily extracted <br /> from the single extraction well installed on the site.Therefore,one additional ground water extraction <br /> well will be installed south of monitoring well MW-5, in order to augment the ground water <br /> extraction system. <br /> Remediation within the petroleum hydrocarbon impacted area at the site will consist of the following <br /> tasks: <br /> • Permitting, planning and pre-field work activities; <br /> • Installation of remediation wells; <br /> • Installation of a ground water extraction wells; <br /> • Installation of underground remediation piping system; <br /> • Soil vapor extraction system start-up period; <br /> • Monitoring and maintenance; <br /> • Addition of the ground water extraction well to the extraction system <br /> • Operation and maintenance of the SVE system and continued operation of the ground water <br /> extraction and treatment system; and <br /> • Progress/confirmation sampling. <br /> Each of these tasks are discussed below in detail. <br /> 3.1. PERMITTING, PLANNING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> Applicable and necessary permits will be obtained from the EHD, San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution <br /> Control District (SJVAPCD) and City of Stockton Building Department prior to initiation of the <br /> remediation project. As required by EHD permitting, Health and Safety Plan will be prepared in <br /> accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site <br /> Activities(National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration)and with federal(29 <br /> CFR 1910.120) and state (title 8, Cal. Code Regs., section 5192) regulations. <br /> The SHSP will include: <br /> • Field activities, standard operating procedures (SOP); personnel requirements, potential <br /> hazardous substances, personnel w/ responsibilities, chemical, physical hazards, confined <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
