' 20 December 2001 AGE-NC Project No 95-0128 ' Page 7 of 9 ' Benzene was detected in samples TMW-1, MW-2, MW-4, MW-5 and VW-1 at concentrations of 0 83 4g/l, 1 5 µg/l, 11 µg/l,79µg/1 and 71 µg/1,respectively The remaining BTEX compounds were detected in the same samples at concentrations ranging up to 5,300 µg/1 of xylenes in MW-5 MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8020 in ground water samples MW-2, MW-3,MW-5,MW-8, MW-1 IA,MW 11B,MW 12A,MW-12B,MW-15 and VW-I at concentrations ranging from 9 5 µg/l ' in MW-3 to 500 µg/1 in MW-11B (off-site) MTBE was also quantified by EPA Method 8260 Modified in ground water samples MW-2 through MW-6,MW-8,MW-11 A/B,MW 12A/B,MW-15 and MW-l 6 and vapor well VW-1 at concentrations ranging from 1 3 µg/l In MW-16 to 620µg/1 in ' MW-11B Of the remaining fuel oxygenates, 1,2-DCA was detected in sample MW-3 at 1 2 µg/1 The analytical results are summarized on Tables 2 and 3 The laboratory reports for the quarterly ' monitoring event (MAI Laboratory ID No 81701 to 81719), quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reports and the chain-of-custody form are Included in Appendix C Dissolved MTBE is displayed on Figure 4 3 3 INTERIM REMEDIATION RESULTS - FIRST 30 DAYS The ground water extraction and treatment system operated during the month of October and November 2001 Samples were collected from the system on two occasions for analysis and system ' evaluation A total volume of 126,250 gallons was extracted from between 12 October and 13 November 2001,based on effluent flow meter observations until 13 November 2001 Based on the total water volume extracted, approximately, 1 3 kg or 2 86 lbs of MTBE and 0 192 kg or 0 42 lbs ' of benzene were removed from the site and treated TPH-g was detected in two Influent samples collected at 1,575µg11 and 9,200 µg/l TPH-d at ' concentrations of 1,900 µg/1 in the sample collected on 13 November 2001 Benzene was detected In influent samples at concentrations of 340µg11 and 830 µg/1 on 12 October and 13 November, respectively The remaining BTEX compounds were detected in the same samples at concentrations ranginc,im to 1 300 ii o,/1 Ocvlenecl MTRE wac detected by FPA Methnrl 8260 in water Gamnles at 0 0 [ r c ♦ a 3,450 µg/1 on 12 September and by EPA Method 8020 in water samples at 2,100 µg11 on 13 November 2001 TPH-g, TPH-d, MTBE and BTEX were not detected in the effluent samples The analytical results are summarized on Table 4 The laboratory reports for the quarterly monitoring event (PET Sample ID PE 132085-01 and 02 and MAI Laboratory ID No 83539 to 83541),quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reports and the chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix D The removed hydrocarbon mass calculations are displayed in Appendix E Advanced GeoEnvironmentai Inc
