' 28 September 2000 AGE-NC Project No 95-0128 ' Page 3 of 5 ' Ground water was inferred to be flowing approximately northeast (N 14°E) in both the properly screened wells and the deeply screened wells (Figures 3,4) The gradient for the properly screened wells was approximately 0 004 ft/ft The gradient determined for the drowned or submerged wells ' was approximately 0 003 ft/ft ' 3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS FROM GROUND WATER SAMPLES MAI received, extracted and analyzed the ground water samples on 21 August 2000 MAI issued a ' report dated 28 August 2000 The analytical results from the 18 August 2000 ground water samples are as follows ' • Dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in samples from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-6 and VW-1 In general, the highest concentrations of hydrocarbons were ' detected in the water sample from the northeastern and eastern portion of the site, monitoring wells MW-5 and MW-4, which contained 85,000 microgram per liter(µg/1) and 26,000,ug/l, • TPH-g, respectively Vapor well VW-1 contained 4,800 µg11 TPH-g • TPH-d was detected at concentrations as high as 5,900 µg/t (MW-5) I • Benzene was detected at significant concentrations in wells MW-4, MW-5 and MW-6 and vapor well VW-I at concentrations of 29 Azg/l, 420,ug/l, 1 6,ugll and 160 µg11, respectively • MTBE was detected in all ground water samples collected, with the exception of wells ' MW-1 and MW-10 Detected concentrations of MTBE ranged from 3 1 µg/l (MW-7) to 1,100 Mi g/1 (MW-I 2A) • DIPE, ETBE, TAME, and TBA were not detected in the ground water samples collected during the ground water monitoring event Laboratory results of water samples analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons are summarized in Tables 2 and 3 The laboratory reports for the quarterly monitoring event (MAI Laboratory ID No 45350 to 46364) QA/QC reports and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix B I • Advanced CeoLnvironmental Inc
