22 February 2000
AGE-NC Project No 95-0128
' three drowned wells was approximately 0 0016 ft/ft,the gradient for the four properly screened wells
was approximately 0 0018 ft/ft
' 3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS FROM GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' MAI received, extracted and analyzed the ground water samples on 02 February 2000 MAI issued
a report dated 10 February 2000 The analytical results from the 31 January 2000 ground water
samples are as follows
' 0 TPH-g, TPH-d, and the BTEX compounds were not detected in the ground water sample
from the drowned well MW1 Low concentrations of TPH-d was detected In the samples
from drowned wells MW2 and MW3,340µg and 77µg/1,respectively In addition, 0 58µg/1
toluene was detected in the sample from MW3
' 0 Dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in samples from all the properly screened
monitoring wells (MW4 through MW7 and VW1) The sample from MW7, the up-gradient
well, contained only 120µg/1 TPH-d In general, the highest concentrations of hydrocarbons
were detected in the water sample from monitoring well MW4, which contained 35,000µg/1
TPH-g, 4,900 µg/1 TPH-d, 51 µg/1 benzene, 73 µg/1 toluene, 1,900 µg/1 ethylbenzene and
7,700µg/1 total xylenes The sample from MW5 contained more benzene and toluene than
' the MW4 sample, with 370 µg/l benzene and 420 µg/l toluene The lowest suite of
hydrocarbon concentrations were detected in the sample from monitoring well MW6, which
contained 150 µg/1 TPH-g, 1 5 µg/l benzene, 0 78 µg/1 toluene, 5 8 µg/1 ethylbenzene and
' 22 µg/l total xylenes The MW4 sample had less than a detectable concentration of TPH-d
this quarter
' 0 TPH-d was detected in samples from all the properly-screened monitoring wells, except
MW6, at concentrations as high as 4,900µg1l(MW4),but was not detected in samples from
the deeper-screen wells MW 1 or MW2 A low concentration was detected in the sample from
' the deeper screen MW3, as noted above
• MTBE was detected in all ground water samples collected Detected concentrations of
MTBE ranged from 1 3 µg/l (MW1) to 600µg/l (MW5)
• TBA was not detected in any samples this quarter, however, the detection limit vaned from
10 yg/l to 100 µg/1 for samples collected from MW5, MW7 and VW1
• DIPE, TAME, and ETBE were not detected in the ground water samples collected during
the 31 January 2000 ground water monitoring event
I
Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc
I
