06 August 2004
AGE-NC Project No 95-0128
I gauge will be attached to the piping at the inlet of the blower The air flow will be monitored using
a dedicated Blue While flow sensor The vapor stream at the SVE inlet can be monitored for the
presence of organic vapor using an OVM Sampling ports are to be installed upstream of the vacuum
blower inlet to recover influent soil-gas vapor stream samples, and downstream of the carbon to
recover effluent stream samples to monitor the efficiency of hydrocarbon adsorption
' 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this quarterly investigation
' 41 WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
• A volume of 288,091 gallons were extracted between 11 September 2003 and 15 May 2004
A total of 1,858,469 9 gallons have been extracted since the inception of the ground water
treatment in October 2001
During the this reporting period,approximately 0 308 kg/0 68 lbs of MTBE,0 169 kg/0 373
lbs of benzene and 1 874 kg/4 13 lbs of TPH-g were removed from the site and treated by
the ground water extraction system A total of 9 98 lbs of MTBE, 4 753 lbs of BTEX and
' 7143 lbs of TPH-g have been removed since October 2001
• The average extraction rate from well EW-1 was less than 2 gallons per minute during the
' reporting period Approximately 10 feet of ground water is present in the well EW-1 casing
' 42 QUARTERLY GROUND WATER MONITORING
• Ground water elevations measured during the March 2004 monitoring event ranged between
' 20 67 feet to 22 08 feet below MSL The depth to ground water increased an average of
0 6 feet since the last ground water monitoring event The ground water flow direction was
determined to be east to northeast and is similar to the flow directions determined in previous
monitor iiag events
• Dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in ground
' water samples MW-4,MW-5 and VW-1,collected within the northeastern portion of the site
and in well MW-11A on Pacific Avenue
• Various BTEX compounds were detected in ground water samples MW-4,MW-5 and VW-I
. with the highest concentrations detected in sample VW-1 The benzene concentrations in
samples MW-4,MW-5 and VW-1,the toluene concentration in VW-I and the ethylbenzene
1 Advanced GeoEnviron mental Inc
I
