I <br /> I26 September 2003 <br /> • AGE-NC Project No 95-0128 <br />' Page 4 of 8 <br />' Benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene (BTEX) and fuel additives di-isopropyl ether <br /> (DIPE),ethyl tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE),methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE),tertiary-amyl <br /> methyl ether(TAME),tertiarybutanol(TBA),methanol,ethanol,ethylene dibromide(EDB) <br /> and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260 Modified <br />' 26 INTERIM REMEDIATION <br />' Between 16 December and March 31 2002, an interim ground water pump-and-treat system was in <br /> continuous operation at the site, interim ground water pump-and-treat operation and maintenance <br /> procedures for the site were outlined in Monitoring Well Installation and Interim Ground Water <br />' Remediation <br /> I2 6 1 Ground Water Extraction System Operation <br /> On-site extraction well EW-1 was adjusted at the well-head to continuously extract ground water <br />' during the fourth quarter 2002 and first quarter 2003 at an average flow rate of less than 2 gallons <br /> per minute(GPM), the extracted ground water was routed through a ground water treatment system <br />' consisting of granular activated carbon (GAC) and Sunsolve® Following treatment, water was <br /> discharged via 1-inch diameter, schedule 80 polyvmylchlonde (PVC)pipe aboveground along the <br /> west side of the site to the City of Stockton discharge line located in Rose Mane Lane A diagram <br /> of the remediation system is provided in Figure 2a <br /> Based on effluent flow meter readings(Table 4),approximately 92,546 gallons of treated water were <br /> I extracted and discharged to the City of Stockton sewer system during the late fourth quarter 2002 <br /> and first quarter 2003 under City of Stockton Public Works Department (SPVM) Industrial <br /> Wastewater Discharge Permit No 01 <br /> 2 6 2 Ground water Extraction System Water Sampling Procedures <br /> Between January and March 2003, AGE collected grab ground water samples from the water <br /> treatment system, from valved ports located upstream (influent) and downstream (effluent)of the <br /> treatment unit The influent samples were collected in laboratory-supplied 40-m1 EPA-approved <br /> volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample <br /> preservative, and into 1-liter amber bottles without preservative Effluent samples were collected in <br /> the same containers and into 500-milliliter plastic bottles without preservative Care was taken to <br /> . ensure that visible air bubbles were not present in the vials after filling and capping <br /> IAdvanced GeoEnvironmentai Inc <br />
