07 January 1998 �i <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0128 `Y <br /> Page 4 of 7 <br /> �y <br /> 34 LAO ORY ANALYSIS <br /> Selected s and grab ground water samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d), volatile aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, <br /> toluene, ethyl benzene and total xylene BTE&X) and other oxygenated fuel additives tertiary butyl <br /> alcohol (TBA),di-Isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether(ETBE) and tertiary amyl methyl <br /> ether(TAME) in accordance with EPA methods 8015m/5030 and 8020/602 and 8260/8260m If <br /> field observations Indicate that other petroleum hydrocarbons are present, additional analysis may <br /> be necessary • `%-V <br /> Selected soil samples ma/y also be analyzed for intrinsic permeability, moisture content,porosity and <br /> total organic carbon (TOC) in accordance with the appropriate EPA or ASTM methods <br /> Laboratory reports of both soil and ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality <br /> assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be <br /> presented in a report with the findings and recommendations <br /> 4 0. PROCEDURES <br /> 41 PROBING AND SAMPLING <br /> For the collection of soil and ground water samples, the following procedures will be performed <br /> I Prepare a site health and safety plan in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (Prepared by National Institute for <br /> Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U S Coast Guard and U S Environmental <br /> Protection Agency, 1985) <br /> 2 Notify the PHS-EHD 48 hours prior to commencement of any work, I-Aile securing proper <br /> city/county soil boring permits <br /> 3 Boring Iocations will be marked at least 48 hours in advance for an Underground Service <br /> Alert (I1SA) c'herk of iindergrounri utiIitieg nr n,naa <br /> r•r�� <br /> 4 Initially,advance eight probe borings using a van-mounted Geoprobe equipped with a 1 125- <br /> inch diameter probe rods Probe borings will be advanced to a minimum depth of 45 feet <br /> bsg Probe boring locations are illustrated on Figure 1 If field conditions indicate that <br /> impacted soil and or ground water is present,additional probe bonngs may be advanced with <br /> concurrence from the PHS-EHD <br /> . 5 Decontaminate sampling equipment in an Alconox solution and rinse twice with water prior <br /> Advanced GeaEnvironmental,Inc <br />
