INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK
At the request of Mr Art Wyatt, Geological Audit Services, Inc (GeoAudit) conducted field
' activities at 4511 Pacific Avenue in Stockton, California Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE)
was subsequently retained to prepare the Quarterly Report on the field data collected by GeoAudit
The monitoring was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for investigation at underground storage tanks (UST) sites The
' location of the site is depicted on Figure I A plan of the site is depicted on Figure 2
Due to consistently non-detectable levels of petroleum hydrocarbons in MW-1, GeoAudit
recommended discontinuing ground water sampling from this well Ms Margaret Lagono of the
PHS-EBD concurred with the recommendation However, ground water was present in vapor well
VW-1, therefore a water sample was collected from the vapor well
2.0. BACKGROUND
' 21 SITE ASSESSMENT
The site is located on the northwest corner of Pacific Avenue and Rose Mane Lane in a flat
commercial area of central Stockton (Figure 1) The facility consists of a building and three pump
islands covered by a canopy (Figure 2) The site currently operates as a Mini Mart and gasoline
station In February 1991, a broken coupling in a product line was discovered at the site and repaired
During repair operations, hydrocarbon impacted soil was discovered beneath the product line
Subsequently, the PHS-EHD required investigation into the vertical and lateral extent of impacted
' soil
' Three soil borings, one vapor extraction well and three morntonng wells were installed at the site by
GeoAudit The vertical and lateral extent of hydrocarbon impacted soil and ground water has been
determined -
2 2 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
Svc underground storage tanks (UST's) were removed from the site on 8 April 1994 Details of the
UST removal and sampling were presented in a report prepared by GeoAudit In May 1994, two
12,000-gallon USTs and associated piping were installed at the site
