(GeoAudit) has
collected soil samples for the removal of six underground storage tanks (UST's) and
associated piping at 4511 Pacific Avenue in Stockton, California.
2.0 PROCEDURE
Six (6) underground storage tanks (UST's)were removed from the site on April 8, 1994. An
excavator, loader and operator were suppled by Goins Environmental Construction of
. Sacramento (GEC) to perform the excavation and tank removal A total of 19 soil samples
were collected by a representative of GeoAudit Nine soil samples were collected from the
floor of the excavation (SE-1, NE-1, M56, NW1, W23, SW-1, NF-4, M35, and E12), six
samples from the piping area (P-1 through P-6), and four samples from the soil stockpile
(SP-1 through SP-4). Soil samples were collected with a metne soil sampler loaded with two
clean, 2 by 3-inch brass tubes. The ends of the lead tubes were covered with aluminum
sheets, capped, Iabled and sealed with tape. Samples for the excavation were collected from
the excavator bucket.
Twelve samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline, volatile
aromatics (BTE&X) total lead, total dichloroethanes (DCA) and total dichloroethenes
(DCE); one sample was anaylzed for TPH as dbesel, BTE&X, DCA and DCE, two samples
were analyzed for TPH as diesel and BTE&X
Soil from the excavation was stockpiled near the northeast comer of the property. Four
stockpile samples were collected, composited at the laboratory and analyzed for 11 H and
BTE&X. All sample locations and analyses were specified by Ms Diane Hinson of the San
Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) The
soil sample locations are illustrated on Figure 1
i -do 3. 1
