INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK
In accordance with the request of Mr Art Wyatt, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc , (AGE) has
prepared this Quarterly Report for the site located at 4511 Pacific Avenue, Stockton. California (the
site) The scope of work was to monitor and sample ground water at the site The location of the site
is illustrated in Figure I - Location Map Structures, monitoring well and soil boring locations are
illustrated in Figure 2 - Site Plan
Site history and a description of previous work performed at the site were detailed in Quarterly
Report - March 1996, dated 30 April 1996, prepared by AGE
Monitoring was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for investigations of underground storage tank (UST) sites
20 PROCEDURES
2 1 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
On 23 July 1997, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in each
well relative to the top of the well casings After ground water depth measurements were collected,
monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-7 and vapor well VW-I were purged using a PVC submersible
pump Twelve gallons of water were evacuated from each monitoring well and approximately
twenty-five gallons were removed from vapor well VW-1 Temperature, pH and conductivity of
purged water(ground water stabilization data) were measured at 2-gallon or 4-gallon intervals using
an ICM model 5200 water analyzer The ground water stabilization data and field logs are included
in Appendix A
22 GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECT ION
Following purging and recovery of the ground water monitoring wells, a water sample was collected
froin each purged well using a new, clean, disposable plastic bailer Immediately upon retrieval,
samples from monitoring wells MW-I through MW-7 and vapor well VW-1 were transferred into
chilled 40-m1 EPA approved VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18%hydrochlone acid Additionally, one
1-liter amber bottle was filled with water from each of monitoring wells MW-4 through MW-7 and
• vapor well VW-1
Advanced GeoEnvironmcatal Inc
