A Tosco approveii contractor'will 6e responsible for.ail construction activities ; <br /> associated with the station decommissioning, including UST and product line permitting,-removal, -and <br /> disposal. Site activities are tentatively scheduled for.January,'1998.' The purpose of this Contingency <br /> Plan is to notify the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD)of the upcoming UST . <br /> removal activities and briefly discuss the.sampling,procedures to-be followed'during.UST and product <br /> line removal activities: a- : <br /> SITE BACKGROUND r . <br /> The site is located on the northwest corner,of the intersection-of Pacific Avenue and'Wiilora Road in, } <br /> Stockton;-California. Statiori'facilities consist of a.station building, two 12,000-gallon gasoline USM S, <br /> one 550.gallon waste oil UST, associated product` lines;and dispensers,.•two,hydraulic lifts,, and one`. . <br /> sand/water separator (Figure 2). .. <br /> PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK ' <br /> Three USTs, associated product, lines, and dispensers"hydraulic lifts, and .sand/water separator are <br /> scheduled to be removed'in January 1998. ,Upon removal, the USTs, product Imes, and hydraulic lifts - <br /> will be.transported by an approved hauler for disposal and/ot,recycling. Soil compliance samples will <br /> be collected from below the'USTs, product lines;hydraulic lifts, and-sand/water separator incompliance <br /> with the State of California Water. Resources.Control Board's•Leaking Underground Fuel Tanks (LUFT) <br /> Manual and California Underground Storage Tank.Regulations 1994,the Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board's (RWQCB) .Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and <br /> k Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites, and SJCEHD guidelines. These guidelines specify the minimum . <br /> number and location of soil samples to be taken upon routine UST and related equipment removal.
