Underground Storage Tank Removal Report and Work Plan for Monitoring Well Installation 7
Southland Store#17334,4501 North Pershing Avenue,Stockton,California October 27, 1998
Following installation, both casings of the monitoring well will be developed by hand bailing to remove
fine-grained sediments from the casings and filter pack Water from the development process will be
containerized and temporarily stored on site in DOT-approved 55-gallon drums
The top of casing of each nested well will be professionally surveyed relative to a mean sea level
datum The newly installed nested well, along will all site-related monitoring wells, will be monitored to
measure static liquid levels during the fourth quarter groundwater sampling and monitoring event
Liquid levels will be monitored using a field Instrument that distinguishes between water and petroleum
products
Following monitoring, field instruments will be used to determine dissolved oxygen levels in both well
casings Each casing of the well will be purged prior to sampling During purging, pH, temperature,
and conductivity of purged water will be measured until measurements have stabilized Then
groundwater samples will be collected from each well casing Collected groundwater samples will be
analyzed by a State-certified analytical laboratory for BTEX, MTBE, and TPH-G by EPA methods
8020/8015 modified, and the oxygenates TBA, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, TAME by EPA Method 8260
6 3 Well Survey
A well survey will be conducted at the Department of Water Resources (DWR) and the local municipal
water agency to locate all water supply wells and surface water bodies within a 2,000-foot radius of the
site The information obtained from the agencies will be included in the subsurface assessment report
and will be used to identify any wells which may be at risk due to the petroleum release at the site
6 4 Report PreparationlScheduling
Fluor Daniel GTI will prepare a report summarizing the data collected under the scope of work detailed
above The report will document the methods and results of the work, summarize laboratory analytical
results, and include appropriate maps The report will also document field work and results of the
fourth quarter monitoring and sampling event at the site
Field work will commence following written regulatory agency approval of this scope of work
7 0 SUMMARY
On August 25 and 26, 1998, approximately 750 cubic yards of soil was excavated at the site to
accommodate the installation of two new 10,000-gallon double-wall steel USTs Approximately 600
17334ust rpt
FLUOR DANIEL GTI
CEJ
