Wiggins & Associates, Stockton, California / Project 30910I July 31, 1991
SOIL BORINGS
On June 24 , 1991, nine (9) soil borings were drilled at the site.
Barings are indicated as B-1 through B-9 in this report and on
Plate 4 .
-- Borings B--3 , B-7, and B--9 were placed approximately 5 to 10 feet
east of surveyed locations of the three underground storage tanks.
Baring B-6 was drilled approximately 20 feet west of the surveyed
tank locations. Barings B-2, B-4 , B-5, and B-8 were drilled near
the three existing product dispensers, and the surveyed locations
of related piping. Boring B-1 was placed near the north eastern
limits of the site, approximately 40 feet east of the tanks. This
boring was drilled for the collection of "background" and down
gradient soil samples.
Using truck-mounted drilling equipment, Borings B-1, B--3 , B-6, B-7 ,
and B-9, were drilled by Aqua Science Engineers, located in San
Ramon, California. These borings were terminated at or near water
saturated zones . Borings B-2 , B-4 , B-5 and B--8 were drilled using
hand augering equipment.
SOIL SAMPLING
Soil samples were recovered from each boring. Samples were
recovered from the borings as outlined in the TMC Subsurface Soil
Chemical Investigation Work Plan, dated April 15, 1991. Specific
sample depths are displayed in Attachment 1, Soil Boring Permit and
Logs of Soil Borings. In borings B-3 , B-6, B-7 , B-9 , samples were
recovered at approximately five to six-foot intervals. In Boring
B-11 the first two samples were collected at 6 - 6-1/2 and 11 -
11.-1/2 feet, respectively. Subsequent soil samples were then
recovered at approximately 18 to 24-inch intervals. This sampling
TMC Environmental, Inc. / San Pablo, California 5 of 12
