Wiggins & Associates, Stockton, California / ,Protect 309101 July 31, 1991
CHEMICAL ANALYSIS RESULTS
T Chemical analysis results of the samples and their _ respective
depths are presented in Table 1, Chemical Analysis Results of Soil
Boring Samples. Laboratory copies are in Attachment 2 , Laboratory
Results and Sample Chain of Custody.
Chemical analysis results of the soil samples reveal detectable
levels of gasoline and diesel compounds in soil samples B-1-11,
B-1-12, B-3-5, B-6-4 , B--6-5, B-7-4, B--7-5 and B-8 . Samples
recovered from Borings B-2 , B-4 , B--5 and B-9 had gasoline and/or
Diesel compounds below laboratory detection limits. The soil
analysis results reveal relatively high TVH Gas and BTEX levels in
samples B-1-11, 5--1-12, and B-3-5, recovered near the soil - ground
water interface. Detectable levels of Benzene and Total Xylenes
are in samples B-6-4 and B-6-5, recovered near the soil - ground
water interface. Sample B-7-4 , also recovered near the soil -
ground water interface, has detectable levels of TVH Gas, Benzene,
and Total Xylenes. Sample B-8-1, recovered approximately 2-1/2
feet below the diesel dispenser, has detectable levels of Diesel.
SUMMARY
An abandoned card-lock fuel station exists on the site.
Reportedly, the fuel station has been abandoned since May, 1990.
Three 12 , 000-gallon capacity underground fuel storage tanks (two
gasoline and one diesel) are located at the site. Review of SJCPHS
files revealed the fuel tanks have failed precision tests; once in
1987, and again in 1989 . The quantity of materials discharged is
not indicated in these files.
TMC Environmental, Inc. / San Pablo, California 7 of 12
