The work steps to be completed by Groundwater Technology are
summarized below:
WORK STEPS
■ Abandon monitoring wells MW.1, 2, 2A, 3, 4, 5, 5A, and 6.
ff Collect soil samples from the bottom of MW-1, 2, 3, 4, and 6.
1
Submit soil samples for laboratory analysis.
■ Revise quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling program.
WELL ABANDONMENT/SOIL SAMPLING
Each well will be abandoned by drilling out the casing, seal, and filter pack to completion depth using a
portable drilling rig equipped with 8-inch outside-diameter (O.D) hollow-stem augers. All drilling and
sampling equipment will be steam cleaned between each well. All well debris and soil removed during
drilling will be stored on plastic sheeting at the site pending proper disposal. Upon drilling completion,
each boring will be sealed to grade with a cement/bentonite grout using tremie pipe as per State and
County regulations.
I
Soil samples will be collected from the bottom of wells MW-1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 using a 2.5-inch O.D.
modified split-spoon sampler equipped with three brass sample tubes. The sampler will be driven ahead
of the lead auger approximately 18-inches after reaching completion depth of the original well.
