Brett Hunter
Page 2
A modified groundwater sampling plan was established at the meeting for the remaining monitoring wells.
Monitoring wells MW#4A and MW#9 are to be sampled on a quarterly basis, monitoring wells MW#8
and MW#10 are to be sampled on a semi-annual basis, and monitoring well MW#11 is to be sampled on
a yearly basis at this time. Monitoring wells MW#8 and MW#9 may need to be destroyed to allow for
the development of the property. These wells will not be replaced unless the additional data indicates that
monitoring points are needed in these areas.
PHS/EHD will use the additional soil and groundwater data to evaluate whether any residual
contamination at the site poses a significant threat to the beneficial uses designated for groundwater in
this area.
A final report and request for closure are to be prepared by Chevron and submitted to the Central Valley
Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for review and concurrence. The information from
the additional data still to be gathered at the site will be evaluated by PHS/EHD and any comments or
recommendations by PHS/EHD will be.forwarded .to the CVRWQCB at that time.
If you disagree with this summary or have any questions, please contact Linda Turkatte, Senior REHS,of
ny staff at (209) 468-3441.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
Health Officer
Donna Heran, REHS, Program Manager
Environmental Health Division
DH/lt
c: CVRWQCB-Beth Thayer
c: A.G.
