Chevron U.S.A.
Page 29
The test results of the groundwater samples obtained from the recently
T constructed wells (April 1 i, 1990) showed little contamination. These results were
repeated with the May 9, 1990 sampling. The August 17, 1990 sampling represented a
third round of sampling with similar test results. The August 17, 1990 sampling
revealed monitoring well MW-2A, MW-B and MW-11 to have only slight petroleum
contamination. These three consecutive relatively clean petroleum contamination test
results of MW-2A further supports the suspicion that MW-2 has been contaminated by
external sources.
10.0 DISCUSSION OF FINDINGS
The subject property is located at the northeast corner of Pershing and Robinhood
Drive in Stockton,California. The subject property is currently developed as a
retail gasoline dispensing service station.
Recent improvement at the subject service station includes replacement of
product, vent and vapor lines in mid-1986. Fallowing the product line replacement in
late-1988,three groundwater monitoring wells were installed by Groundwater
Technologies Inc. In early-1988, four additional groundwater monitoring wells were
installed by Weiss Associates to further assess the lateral migrat;on of hydrocarbon
contamination. During mid-1988 updated product lines were installed with the
replacement of the waste-oil and gasoline tanks. During this sequenco of
reconstruction,.contaminated soils were observed along the product line and below the
waste-oil and gasoline tank excavation pit.
r; 16000-206-044
11x\11::;
