©� GROUNDWATER <br /> LD07— <br /> Ll TECHNOLOGY, INC. 1401 Halyard Drive,Suite 140 West Sacramento,CA 95691,(916)372-4700 <br /> FAX(916)372-8781 <br /> October 14, 1993 Project No 02070 4607 <br /> Mr Brett Hunter <br /> Chevron U S A Products Company <br /> 2410 Camino Ramon <br /> San Ramon, CA 94583-0804 <br /> RE QUARTERLY MONITORING AND SAMPLING <br /> AND WELL DESTRUCTION ACTIVITIES <br /> FORMER CHEVRON STATION NO. 8-6465 <br /> 5608 NORTH PERSHING AVENUE <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> Dear Mr Hunter <br /> Groundwater Technology, inc submits this letter as a summary of well destruction activities <br /> performed August 2-5 and September 13-14, 1993, and of quarterly groundwater monitoring and <br /> sampling data collected on September 2, 1993 at the above-referenced site <br /> MONITORING WELL ABANDONMENT <br /> Monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-2A, MW3, MW-4, MW-5, MW-5A, and MW-6 were abandoned on <br /> August 2-5, 1993 Each well was abandoned by drilling out the casing, seal, and filter pack to <br /> completion depth using a drill rig equipped with S- and 10-inch holiow stem augers All drilling <br /> activities were performed In accordance with Groundwater Technology's Work Plan for Well <br /> Abandonment, dated July 29, 1993, under San Joaquin County, Environmental Health Division permit <br /> No 93-1483 <br /> Soil samples were collected from the bottom of MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-6 prior to grouting at <br /> depths of 33, 38, 33, and 34 feet, respectively The soil samples were analyzed for benzene, <br /> toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX), and total petroleum hydrocarbons-as-gasoline (TPH-G) <br /> Analytical results are summarized in Table 1 and copies of the laboratory reports are included in <br /> Attachment I The sample collected from the bottom of MW-4 at 48 feet was not analyzed because <br /> it contained bentonite <br /> Two additional wells, MW-8 and MW-9 were abandoned on September 13-14, 1993 The work was <br /> conducted under the existing well destruction permit No 93-1483 that was issued for the first phase <br /> Offices throughout the US Canada and Overseas <br />
