r. <br /> F� <br /> I <br /> AUG 2 '931.M.M. <br /> GROUNDWATER <br /> �� ❑ TECHNOLOGY INC. 1401 Halyard Drive,Suite 140,West Sacramento,CA 95691 (916)372-4700 <br /> FAX(916)372-8781 <br /> July 29, 1993 Proposal No 02070 4607 <br /> Mr Brett Hunter <br /> Chevron U S A, Inc <br /> 2410 Camino Ramon <br /> San Ramon, CA 94583-0804 <br /> RE- WORK PLAN FOR WELL ABANDONMENT <br /> FORMER CHEVRON SERVICE STATION #946465 <br /> 5608 NORTH PERSHING AVENUE <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> Dear Mr Hunter <br /> This letter is presented by Groundwater Technology, Inc as a work plan for well abandonment at the <br /> above referenced site (Figure 1) The work steps to be completed by Groundwater Technology are <br /> summarized below <br /> WORK STEPS <br /> ■ Abandon monitoring wells MW-1, 2, 2A, 3, 4, 5, 5A, and 6 <br /> ■ Collect sod samples from the bottom of MW-1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 <br /> ■ Submit sod samples for laboratory analysis <br /> ■ Revise quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling program <br /> WELL ABANDONMENT/SOIL SAMPLING <br /> Each well will be abandoned by drilling out the casing, seal, and filter pack to completion depth using a <br /> portable drilling rig equipped with 8-inch outside-ftmeter (O D) hollow-stem augers All drilling and <br /> sampling equipment will be steam cleaned between each well All well debris and soil removed during <br /> dnlling will be stored on plastic sheeting at the site pending proper disposal Upon drilling completion, <br /> each boring will be sealed to grade with a cement/bentonite grout using tremae pipe as per State and <br /> County regulations <br /> Soil samples will be collected from the bottom of wells MW-1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 using a 2 5-inch O D <br /> modified spin-spoon sampler equipped with three brass sample tubes The sampler will be driven ahead <br /> .` of the lead auger approximately 18-inches after reaching completion depth of the original well Each <br /> Offices throughout the US Canada and C vmcas <br />
