SPILL , LEAK OR DISPOSAL-PROCEDURES <br /> Actions To Take in Case of Spills or Leaks: Restrict from areas of <br /> Spills or eaxs persons not wearing protective equipment and clothing. <br /> Eliminate sources of ignition. Ventilate area. Inform supervisor or <br /> health and safety officer of any spill or leak. While protecting against <br /> eye and skin contact and inhalation of vapors, contain spill . Prevent <br /> leakage into confined spaces or sewer drains. Where feasible, absorb <br /> liquid with vermiculite, sand, or other non-combustible absorbent <br /> material . Collect in suitable container and cover. <br /> Disposal Methods : Federal laws and regulations impose highly specific i <br /> requirements for disposal of toxic and otherwise hazardous materials. <br /> Consult with your supervisor or health and safety officer regarding the <br /> proper, legal disposal procedures for this substance. Do not dispose of <br /> potentially toxic or otherwise hazardous substances w1thout appropriate <br /> authorization. Prior to receiving institutional authorization, it may be <br /> necessary to store spilled materials. To do so safely, carefully label <br /> containers of materials , store in a cool , dry location, and ma-intain <br /> security of the storage area until official guidance is obtained. <br /> SECTION X.
