The boring
- was terminated at 82.5 feet, which was as deep as the hollow sten
auger drill rig could drill. This boxing was converted into a
vapor well for future treatment of the soil. The construction
details are included on the boring logs (Attachment 1). i
Three soil borings were drilled, around the farmer tank pit, to
define the lateral extent of contamination. The borings were
drilled to 31.5 feet below grade.
Drilling was conducted by Spectrum Drilling under a C37 license.
Drill cuttings were logged continuously for characterization of
contamination and soil type using the Unified Soil Classification
system. The soil beneath Waterloo School, consists of silts and
clays to approximately 30 feet and wall graded sands and
occa.3ional. clays from 30 feet to the maximum depth explored (see
Soil samples were collected from each
boring logs-Attachment 1).
boring at five foot intex:vals.
