CIT OF STOCKTON
OOA
.DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
CITY HALL
42S N. EL OORAOO STREET
STOCKTON, CA 952D2-1 997
September 1, 1989
SEP 11989
San Joaquin County ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
Public Health Services PERNAiT I SERVICES
Post Office Bax 2009
Stockton, CA 95206
Attention: Darlene Reuss
EXCAVATION WORK PLAN: 1501 PICARDY DRIVE
Enclosed are the drawings requested in your letter dated July 26,
1989. It is the intent of the City of Stockton and our
contractor, Stockton Service Station Equipment, to excavate the
area where the diesel -tank was removed in October 1988 . This
tank was removed under permit from your agency, then San Joaquin
Local Health District.
During precision testing, the pressure added by test equipment
caused the tank to leak. We know approximately 60 gallons of
diesel were released- into the soil. Due to the relatively small
amount of petroleum product involved, it is our belief an
excavation will "cleari- up" the site.
Copies of the original. soils tests, which were taken when the
tank was removed, are enclosed.- ._All persons involved with the
remediation process will wear protective clothing as prescribed
by OSHA Codes.
We have initiated the application process with San Joaquin County
Air Pollution Control District for approvals and conditions to
aerate soils. If you have any questions please contact
James Escobar, Deputy Public Works Director/GS at 944-8282 .
JAMES B.
