PILGRIM STREET
LOP SITE CODE: 0001574
APN: 15135001
CVRWQCB CASE: 391156
05/7/2004 On this date a 4,000 gallon heating oil UST was removed from a former
school site now owned by the -Islamic Center of Stockton. Soil samples
were collected and analyzed from beneath the piping and at the UST
invert. One sample (TIC-1) on the north end of the UST was positive for
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) as oil (14,000 mg/kg). The soil
stockpile was tested and later disposed of at Forward Landfill. The
excavation was backfilled with clean soil.
05/21/2004 The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) filed a
Notification of Hazardous Waste Discharge and an unauthorized release
report for the contamination that was discovered during UST removal on
thi s.date.
06/04/2004 The EHD placed the site into the Local Oversight Program for further soil
and ground water assessment on this date.
02/09/2005 The date of the Preliminary Site Assessment Work Plan submitted by
Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc. (AGE).
04/08/2005 On this date the EHD approved the work plan for one boring to ground
water in the area of the known contamination. Soil and ground water
would be sampled and analyzed for: TPH as gasoline, diesel, and oil,
BTEX, and fuel additives.
06/30/2008 An EHD inspection was performed on this date during soil and ground
water sampling. Two borings were completed: one shallow soil boring to
15 feet below ground surface (bgs) where it met refusal; one boring to
approximately 50 feet b s where a water sample was collected. The two
borings were less than 6 feet apart.
12/05/2008 The date of the AGE Preliminary Site Assessment Report submitted to
EHD. The 12 soil samples and 1 ground water sample were all below
laboratory detection limits for: TPH as gasoline, diesel and oil, BTEX, and
fuel additives.
12/04/2008 On this date the EHD staff discussed site closure consideration with the
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board staff.
