i
Additional Site Assessment and Aquifer Pump Test Work Plan
MOORE TRUCK LINES
3400 Newton Road,Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
On behalf of Mrs.Edna Moore of Moore Truck Lines,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.(AGE)has
prepared the enclosed Additional Site Assessment and Aquifer Pump Test Work Plan for the property
located at 3400 Newton Road,Stockton,California(the site).The proposed scope of work includes
the installation of three monitoring wells screened from 55-75 feet below surface grade (bsg), one
monitoring well screened from 60-80 feet bsg at the former underground storage tank(UST)area,
and performance of one ground water extraction pilot study(pump test)for a duration of 48 hours.
The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1. A plan of the site, including former soil borings
and proposed well locations, is illustrated on Figure 2. Site background information is provided in
Appendix A.
The purpose of the proposed scope of work is to further assess the extent of total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gas(TPH-g),TPH-diesel,methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE),and benzene,toluene,
ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX)-impacted soil and ground water, and to evaluate ground
water extraction as a remedial alternative for the site.
During the 31 August quarterly ground water monitoring event,the depth to ground water in well
MW-1 was greater than the screen interval. During the 29 November quarterly ground water
monitoring event,the depth of water measured in the well MW-1 screen was approximately one-foot.
On the same day,the depth to ground water measurements were taken in all wells and ranged from
62.72 in well MW-2 and 62.98 in well MW-1,which had a total depth of 63.10 feet below the casing
grade (MW-1). During both events AGE was unable to collect ground water samples from
monitoring well MW-1.A well with a deeper screen is needed at well MW-1 to address the ground
water contamination at the former UST area and to evaluate ground water remediation feasibility.
This work plan was prepared as required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department(EHD)by letter dated 05 October 2007(Appendix B). This work plan is in accordance
with the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board's(CV RWQCB's)AppendixA to Tri-
Regional Recommendations-Reporting,dated 30 August 1991, for the investigation of UST sites.
2.0. SCOPE OF WORK
The proposed scope of work includes the following tasks:
• Permitting and pre-field work activities;
• Soil sample collection and analysis;
• Monitoring well installation and development;
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
