L-i Groundwater samples were labeled with the boring number, depth, date, time, and initialed. For
example LC-1-76, where LC-I is the boring number and 76 is the sample depth in feet.
Temperature, pH, and conductivity of each groundwater sample were recorded on field report
forms. Drilling and sampling procedures are included in Appendix B.
Following the last sample, an expendable Hydropunch tip was knocked out and the hole grouted
• with 20:1 cement/bentonite grout, from the bottom up, during removal of the probe casing.
All drilling and sampling equipment was washed prior to drilling. In addition, the probe casing,
probe tips, screen, and bailer were decontaminated by steam cleaning between each sample. Soil
cuttings were not generated during CPT drilling operations. Wash water generated during the
field investigation was placed into 208-liter (55-gallon) drums approved by the United Nations
for transport of liquid and solid wastes, stored in a secure area at the site pending laboratory
analysis. The cone penetration test data is included in Appendix A.
2.4 Laboratory Analyses
The soil and groundwater samples were submitted to Creek Environmental Laboratories, Inc.,
and Precision Enviro-Tech, Inc., California-certified analytical laboratories, for analysis.
' Chain-of-custody procedures, including the use of chain-of-custody farms, were used to
document sample handling and transport from the time of collection to delivery to the laboratory
for analysis. The chain-of-custody farms and laboratory analytical reports are included in
Appendix C. Electronic laboratory data will be submitted to the State Water Resources Board
GeoTracker Site. The confirmation number will be provided at that time.
The analyses were conducted on a normal turn-around basis in general accordance with
U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) specified holding times. The analyses were
ti► performed in general accordance with the following EPA methods:
Matrix Analyses
Soillwater Gasoline Analysis Package EPA Method 8015/8020
W Soillwater Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Diesel Modified EPA Method 8015
Soillwater Aromatic and Halogenated Volatile Organics EPA Method 8021 B
Soillwater GC/MS Fuel Oxygenate Compounds EPA Method 8260B
LW
2.5 Investigation-Derived Waste Disposal
LM Drill cuttings were not generated during this investigation.
;.
+ Infamabw TacMWoV4WCRFP>iCO"Mse[0MWAPWJ918M5178.188.dw 2-3
4W2
4W
