All compaction testing and gradation analysis will be arranged and paid for by the Owner. <br /> 6 Contractor shall be present when samples of bedding, select backfill, and backfill materials <br /> 9 are gathered for analysis. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 B. Where relative compaction densities are specified in these specifications, the maximum <br /> 12 density shall be determined in accordance with the latest revision of either California Test <br /> 13 216 (California Department of Transportation), ANSI/ASTM 1557, or AASHO T180 and the <br /> 14 actual density of in-place materials shall be determined in accordance with the latest <br /> 15 revision of either California Test 216 or 231, ANSI/ASTM 1556, or ANSI/ASTM 2922. Method <br /> 16 selection shall be made by the Engineer. <br /> 17 <br /> 16 C. Engineer will perform at least one test within each backfill material zone (BD, SB, BF). <br /> 19 Testing at more frequent intervals may be performed at the discretion of the Engineer. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 1.04 SUBMITTALS: In accordance with Section 01300. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 A.
