Concealed concrete and the interior surfaces of water-containing structures shall be as <br /> 7 described in the State Specifications, Section S1-1.18A, Ordinary Surface Finish. , <br /> 8 <br /> 9 3.11 SMB FINISHING <br /> 10 <br /> 11 A. Screedino: After concrete hes been thoroughly consolidated, screed slabs to the desired ' <br /> 12 elevation and contours by means of accurately placed edge forms and intermediate screed <br /> 13 strips. <br /> 14 '15 B. Floated Finish: <br /> 16 <br /> 17 1. Place, consolidate, strike off, and level concrete, but do not work it further until ready ' <br /> 1a for floating. Begin floating when water sheen has disappeared and when the surface <br /> 19 has stiffened sufficiently. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 2. Troweled finish shall occur at tank floors , <br /> 32 (except where grout topping or fillets will follow), troughs, channels, clear wells, and all <br /> 33 building floor slabs. Follow steel trowel with fine broom finish on all building floors which are <br /> 34 not scheduled for floor covering. ' <br /> 35 <br /> 36 D. Non-slip Floor Finish: Areas to have non-slip finish shall incorporate 25 pounds per 100 <br /> 37 square feet of aluminum oxide grains into the surface. Immediately before floating begins, <br /> 36 sprinkle two-thirds of the abrasive evenly over the surface and float. After embedment, ' <br /> 39 sprinkle the remaining one-third at right angles to the previous application. Apply more <br /> 40 heavily in areas not sufficiently covered by the first application, and float again immediately. <br /> 41 Complete finishing as specified under Troweled Finish. Stairs and stair landings shall receive ' <br /> 42 Non-slip Floor finish. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 E. Broom Finish: Immediately after floating, give slabs for exterior walkways and exterior stoops <br /> 45 a coarse transverse scored texture by drawing a broom across the surface. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 3.12 FLOOR HARDENER <br /> 48 ' <br /> as A.
