Nailers, grounds, sleepers and similar members embedded in, or in contact with, <br /> 25 concrete or masonry shall be dipped, after sawing, for a minimum of 15 minutes in <br /> 26 specified preservative for the entire length of piece. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 3.10 FASTENING <br /> 29 <br /> 30 A. Nailing: <br /> 31 <br /> 32 1. Use only common wire nails or spikes of the dimension shown on the Nailing <br /> 33 Schedule, except where otherwise specifically noted on the Drawings. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 2. For conditions not covered in the Nailing Schedule provide penetration into the piece <br /> 36 receiving the point of not less than 1/2 the length of the nail or spike, provided, <br /> 37 however, that 16d nails may be used to connect two pieces of 2" (nominal) thickness. <br /> ' 38 <br /> 39 3. Nail without splitting wood. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 4. Pre-bore as required. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 5.
