All valves and gates shall be installed in the manner and location shown on the plans in <br /> 35 strict accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. Connections to pipe shall be in <br /> 36 accordance with the applicable specifications herein for "Installation of Pipelines and <br /> 37 Fittings". <br /> 38 <br /> 39 B. Buried Valves <br /> 40 <br /> 41 1. All buried valves shall be provided with a valve box as shown on the drawings and/or <br /> 42 as specified herein. Operating nuts on buried gate valves shall be no greater than 30" <br /> 43 below grade. Provide extension stems if required to bring operating nut within 30" of <br /> 44 grade. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 2. All buried valves on cast iron pipe shall be of the hub-end type unless otherwise <br /> 17 specifically shown on the plans or required by the nature of the installation. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 3.
