I told you
we had receipts for waste di posal. After reviewing I found that the receipt we have is for waste oil left at a
property I own. I did not g crate the waste oil, it was left by a tenant Joshua auto. It was subsequently picked
up at my property(not my s op location)and disposed of. I have attached a copy of the receipt.
We area general contractor hose primary job function is as a general contractor. We do framing, drywall,
siding, and painting. The vt hazardous majority of our work does not generate hardous materials of any kind.
Occasionally we have paint
d thinner materials left over after a job and it is brought back to my shop and
stored for future use. We d not dispose of it,as it is expensive and it is used,in time,on other projects as
primers,or on my own pro rties or equipment.
You mentioned waste kero ne. Kerosene is only used as a fuel and is never wasted. We no longer use kerosene
in favor of diesel. We do ha e a diesel storage tank on site. We use this as fuel for our compressor, steam
cleaner, and bobcat. The pu p on the tank has been leaking.I will be replacing the pump to resolve this problem.
The leaking fuel is caught in a bucket and put into a bulk container. Very small amounts of this fall into the
bucket only when we are martually cranking the pump. We have been catching the drips for three years and have
accumulated maybe 2 or 3 p1lons of liquid. I showed you this container in my warehouse. We will have to
strain out leaves and any othbr debris when we use the fuel. We will take the fuel soaked debris to the proper
disposal facility when we empty this container. This would be approx. 1 quart of debris at this time.
The thinners we use to clean our sprayer are also recycled and used to thin the material the following day.
This cycle is repeated and we never have left over thinner. In the event we have small quantities of paint left
over,or the paint is no longer usable,we have on occasion painted it out on plywood to allow it to dry rather
than storing it. I have been told by many people that this is OK. Once dry, it is allowed to be disposed of in
our dumpster.
You were also concerned aut what we do with our used oil from our equipment. My trucks are all taken to
the Stockton auto center for it changes. I have a compressor,a bobcat, and two forklifts that I have changed
the oil on once per year.I ex lained that t took the used oil to pep boys and they took it for free. The amount
of oil is verysmall, but if yo require,I take it to the hazardous materials facility and pay to dispose of. Most
of my equipment are electric so there is no engine.
Finally,we have some empty drums at our shop. They have been there for years. A few of them were left over
after we bought bulk water based paint in 40 gallon plastic containers. This was several years ago. There are a
few steel drumsat a keptin case we needed a container for future use.'I hey are open on top and could gather
rain water. l wi I di ose of hese as you seem to be very concerned about them.
PI e w hate you may require now and in the future.
Steven M Jones
ersifi d C structi er,ices,Inc
