D. B. & M. ; refer to <br /> Exhibit A for a more complete description. <br /> REGIONAL & GEOGRAPHIC SETTING: The property is located between <br /> Tom Paine Slough and Paradise cut, about Z-4 miles west of the <br /> San Joaquin River , and .3+ males north of the town of Tracy. <br /> Relief is practically flat, with elevations ranging from 5 to 10 <br /> feet above sea level . The area is in the 100 year flood plain of <br /> the San Joaquin River, about 13 miles southeast of the Port of <br /> Stockton, and is used eAclusively for agriculture, with alfalfa & <br /> other salt-tolerant crops the main products. Farm land is <br /> irrigated by open ditch, and the water quality as unsuitable for <br /> domestic needs. Metered, potable water is available in the area. <br /> Refer to FlatesII & III for details. <br /> GEOLOGIC SETTING. The property is located at the western and of <br /> the San Joaquin Basin of the Sacramento Valley, in the flood <br /> plain of the San Joaquin River. The area is rine of very low <br /> relief , with a slope of less than 2% towards the north. Soils <br /> are primarily Sacramento clay & Sacramento clay loam, which have <br /> slightly developed profiles, underlain by unconsolidated <br /> material . They are neutral on the surface, but calcareous in the <br /> subsoil . Alkalinity varies from free to moderate; storie indices <br /> are poor , ranging from 53 to 65.
