Mr. Harry Crockett - 2 17 January 1995 =°
`1t •
Typically, if a MW has had four consecutive quarters of nondetection and ii is still needed to
determine whether a plume is migrating or not, we will allow reduction of its monitoring
frequency to semi-annually to cover the effects of seasonal changes. However, if the MW is not
needed to monitor plume migration, as in the case of an upgradient MW, it can be completely
removed from the monitoring program. If all MWS at your facility show nondetect for four
consecutive quarters, then you may request closure of all investigation and/or remediation
activities at your facility. With regards to lead testing, MWs 1, 4, and 5 had nondetectable
levels and MW 2 had 8.4 µg/1 when tested in June 1994. Based on these results, lead testing in
these MWs is no longer needed. When free product in MW 3 has been completely removed, it
and any MW subsequently installed shall be tested for dissolved lead.
As we have informed you recently, all of our aboveground tank sites have been transferred to a
different unitan_the o£f'ice,.:anaLthe:,ne--w project.rnager.=.for=Tower-Park-is-Gail`vViggett:If you
have any questions, please call Ms. Wiggett at (916) 255-3119.
