(LEI) submitted a revised site assessment work plan dated 7 August 1992. <br /> LEI's response and the revised work plan adequately address our comments. <br /> During my 14 August 1992 telecommunication with Ms. Susan Gahry of LEI, we agreed <br /> on the following items: <br /> 1. Soil sampling shall be continued beyond the proposed two-foot depth below <br /> trench bottoms and the five-foot borings elsewhere until the zero line of <br /> soil contamination or ground water is reached; <br /> 2. A more accurate means of free product thickness measurement other than a <br /> clear bailer shall be used to obtain ground water elevations within <br /> hundredths of a foot; and <br /> 3. In surveying well casings, an established benchmark rather than an assumed <br /> one shall be used. <br /> I also informed Ms. Gahry that we may require saturated soil sampling in the next <br /> phase of work. <br /> Based on the above understandings, we hereby approve the revised work plan dated <br /> 7 August 1992. By 1 September 1992, please submit a schedule for submittal of <br /> the site assessment report.
