„ 3.0 PLANNED ACTIVITIES
3.1 FREE PRODUCT REMOVAL
The amount of product recovered from the passive recovery device has steadily decreased; however, it is
not clear if this trend is due to the reduced presence of free product, lower water levels, and/or non-
optimum depth placement.of the device in the well. The marina personnel have been advised to check
the depth to water in the well and lower the recovery device such that its base is set to reach the top of
the fluid within the well. The marina personnel will continue to utilize this device until free product is
no longer detectable in well MW-3: The data collected by the marina personnel will be:reviewed on a
monthly basis by SECOR and recommendations for appropriate changes, if any, will be made. The data
collected will be incorporated into the quarterly reports, discussed below.
3.2 GROUNDWATER MONITORING AND REPORTING
Quarterly groundwater monitoring and reporting will be conducted in accordance with the final
Groundwater and Monitoring Program issued by the Regional Board.
3.4 ADDITIONAL INVESTIGATION AND/OR REMEDIATION
Based on a comparison between the June 1994 and June 1993 groundwater monitoring results, it appears
that groundwater concentrations are decreasing based on naturally occurring biodegradation. As such,
additional investigation to assess the extent of contamination and/or additional remedial actions are not
warranted at this time. Naturally occurring'biodegradation, coupled with free product removal from well
MW-3, appears to be an effective remedial approach.
The results of the groundwater monitoring will be reviewed on an annual basis. Should these results
indicate the need for additional investigation and/or remediation, an appropriate recommendation will be
L made at that time.
1.
F.
GASUSAMTOWERMWKPLAN
50114-001-01 3-1
