(AGE). The EHD has also discussed the site with the Central Valley
Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB).
In the OMR, AGE recommends preparation of a work plait for a vapor intrusion evaluation,
including the collection of shallow soil gas samples. The EHD concurs with this recommendation
and directs that such a work plan be submitted to the EHD by Mune 28, 2090. In addition, the
EHD directs that a trend analysis be conducted to provide an estimation as to when
groundwater contaminants will meet water quality goals and report the findings by June 28,
2010. This site appears to be approaching the point for closure consideration. Favorable results
from the proposed soil vapor intrusion survey and trend analysis will strengthen the case for site
closure. Continue quarterly sampling and analysis of water samples from MW7 for total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g), tert-butyl alcohol (TBA) and methyl tert-butyl
ether (MTBE). If MTBE, TBA and TPH-g concentrations continue to decline, all the monitoring
wells should be sampled at least once more prior to a request for closure. In preparation for
closure, the intermittent presence of TBA must be addressed as well as the risk and hazard
associated with vapor intrusion, gross contamination and direct exposure to residual
contaminants.
If you have any questions,, please contact Frank Girardi at (209) 953-7868.
Frank Girardi, REHS Nuel C.
