23 April 2001 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 96-0263 <br /> Page 5 of 5 <br />' • MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8260 in CPT-2 at depths of 39 to 43 feet bsg at a <br /> concentration of 4 1 ug/1 Due to the very low concentration of MTBE detected at 39 to 43 <br /> feet bsg, AGE believes dissolved MTBE contamination does not extend significantly below <br />' 43 feet bsg <br /> • BTEX compounds were detected in the 44-foot soil sample collected from CPT-2 at <br /> concentrations as high as 0 022 mg/kg (xylenes) Due to the very low concentrations of <br />' BTEX compounds detected at 44 feet bsg, AGE believes adsorbed BTEX contamination <br /> does not extend significantly below 44 feet bsg <br />' • MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8260 In the 44-foot soil sample collected from CPT-2 <br /> at a concentration of 0 029 mg/kg Due to the very low concentration of MTBE detected at <br /> 44 feet bsg,AGE believes that the MTBE contamination does not extend significantly below <br />' 44 feet bsg <br /> • Three additional ground water monitoring wells were installed at the site on 23 March 2001 <br />' The data acquired from the well installation and sampling coupled with the findings of this <br /> investigation will provide a more comprehensive model of the contaminant distribution to <br /> soil and ground water Cross-sections and zsocontour maps depicting contaminant <br /> distribution will be included in the Monitoring Well Installation and Quarterly Report-Fust <br /> Quarter 2001 AGE anticipates this report will be submitted to PHS-EffD in May 2001 <br /> S.Q.
