J. Hunter and Associates, and has the following comments for your consideration.
The overexcavation of the hydraulic lift area successfully removed the bulk of the impacted soil. The
soil collected from the bottom of the excavation showed only 60 parts per million hydrocarbons in the
form of hydraulic oil. The nondetect results of the solubility testing of this soil sample showed that the
remaining hydrocarbons do not appear to be a threat to groundwater, now and in the future.
Therefore, with the provision that the information provided to this agency was accurate and
representative of existing conditions, PHS/EHD has concluded that the site will not be added to the
local contaminated data base list, nor will it be referred to any state agency for follow up.
Please be advised that this letter does not relieve you of any liability under the California Health and
Safety Code or the Water Code for past, present, or future operations at the site. Nor does it alleviate
the responsibility to clean up existing, additional or previously unidentified conditions at the site which
cause or threatens to cause pollution or nuisance or otherwise pose a threat to water quality or public
health.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss this letter in more detail, please contact Linda Turkatte,
Senior REHS, at (209) 468-3441.
I
1
onna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
c: CVRWQCB, Wendy Cohen
i
Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Sery
