December 22, 1995
Wright Project No. 4123-S
Site QosureReport
7.2 Laboratojy Analysis- Groundwater
The groundwater sample collected from the excavation was analyzed by PEL for the presence of
TPHG, TPHD, motor oil, VOC, and five priority metals (cadmium, chromium, lead, nickel, and
zinc). The TPHG, TPHD, and motor oil analyses were conducted utilizing methods 8015/5030
and 8015/3550 with a request to filter the particulates. The VOC analyses was conducted utilizing
method 624 and the metals were analyzed by methods 7130,7190,7420, 7520, and 7950. Tables
5A and 5b present a summary of the analytical results for the groundwater sample collected during
this investigation. A copy of the laboratory report and associated chain-of-custody documentation
is included in Appendix B.
7.3 Summary of Analygcal Results
No detectable TPHG, TPHD, motor oil, VOC, cadmium, chromium, lead, nickel, or zinc were
found in the groundwater sampled during this investigation.
8.0 REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF CONTAMINATED SOILS
The soils generated during the excavation and over-excavation activities (Stockpile) were loaded
and transported to Altamont Class I1 landfill located in Livermore, California, on September 14 and
15, 1995. Approximately 300 cubic yards of contaminated soils were removed during this phase
of the investigation. Copies of the landfill profile papers and acceptance letter are included in
Appendix C.
9.0 CONCLUSIONS
Wright performed the site remediation activities in accordance with current guidance standards
established by the Regional Water Quality Control Board, the San Joaquin County Public Health
Services - Environmental Health Division, and the City of Tracy. All affected soils within the area
of the proposed parking lot have been properly excavated, stockpiled, sampled, and disposed.
The minor concentrations of metals found within some of the soil samples collected within the
excavation reflect normal background levels commonly found within soils throughout this region.
The groundwater within the area of excavation was not contaminated with constituents commonly
associated with petroleum hydrocarbons. In addition, no detectable levels of cadmium, chromium,
lead, nickel, or zinc were found in the groundwater sampled from the excavation. Further
remediation work at this site is not warranted.
10.0 REPORTING REQUIREMENTS
Wright has forwarded one copy of this report to the following agency:
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
445 North San Joaquin Street
P.O.
