Thornton Rd. RO#: 550
Lodi, CA., 95242 CUF#: 12992
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed Quarterly
Report— Second Quarter 2003 dated September 30, 2003 as submitted by Advanced
GeoEnviron mental on October 3, 2003 and has the following comments.
Recommendations included in the report indicated that the drinking water well onsite is
endangered due to elevated MtBE concentrations in the groundwater samples from the
monitoring wells onsite. Based on this and the high mobility of MtBE, your consultant
has requested EHD to approve their recommendation to enact an interim remedial
action, groundwater pump and treat, to control the migration of the contaminant and
protect the drinking water supply.
EHD concurs with the recommendation and approves the interim remedial action.
Please submit a work plan for the design and operation of the system. A discharge
permit or letter of approval for discharge to private surface property is required to be on
file with EHD before the interim action may proceed. Installation of groundwater
extraction wells requires an EHD "Well Permit Application Form" and application fee,
per parcel.
Please contact Michael Infurna at (209) 468-3454 should you have any questions or
wish to discuss the site.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental He th Division
Michael J.
